Manual And Powered Pallet Trucks

A pallet truck is in fact a manually powered fork truck designed to elevate and move weighty equipment. The front wheels are ordinarily placed on the inside close to the forks at the front. The back has a hydraulic jack which is used to pick up the pallet off the floor.

As it is manually powered the person that manage the truck pushes the forks into or under the pallet. Then one uses the jack part of the truck to 'jack up' the pallet from the floor to a specific height, commonly merely an inch or two. As soon as the pallet has been lifted the operator can with no trouble move the truck wherever he or she want. Normally the pallet is simply lifted off the ground so it can be moved with no trouble. A couple of inches or at most a foot is commonly what is needed.

There are also powered pallet trucks!

In this day and age it is unproblematic to catch powered pallet trucks. Those have been to be had for many years. The same standard works for those as for a manually operated trucks. But, instead of the operator having to jack up the pallets the powered fork truck lifts it for you via electronic controls. The powered ones are of course much easier to work as the engine makes nearly all of the job for you and they can normally lift heavier pallets if required.

We have a fairly small warehouse, where it's difficulty to maneuver a regular forklift, so use a pallet truck, (we call it a pallet jack here in Canada) & find it really makes it easy to manage a busy, but small warehouse
